KNITTING GAL

Back from College and knitting again.....

We went out to dinner at a very nice pub called the Capitol Brewery. Food was good and so was the beer. We met my daughter's boyfriend's family and enjoyed ourselves very much. After that we headed home and just fell into bed. We left everything until today. My hubby and I spent most of today putting the house back in order and setting up my computer and knitting room! It is so fun to have a room of one's own! (I've heard that somewhere before!) I have my books at my fingertips, my projects lined up in baskets under the long desk and all my tools in plastic boxes ready to be used. I still have my knitting basket next to my chair where I do most of my knitting, but I have moved all my knitting paraphernalia from my bedroom into my daughter's room. I will be all set until she comes home in May. I will cross that bridge when I get there. My husband is thrilled to have all my stuff out of the bedroom and off of the floor in every corner. So as I sit here at my keyboard my knitting is around me and I am happy. Now I can watch my knitting videos and knit and be comfortable all at the same time.

Now, I have mixed feelings about my last two children in college. It is all right so far but I can only imagine all the months ahead. I am going to keep busy working, knitting and spending more fun time with my husband. I think we are both looking forward to that. We have been raising our family for 27 years and now we can have time for us again. Now here are some photos of our handsome pup that is still home with us. I can't seem to keep him away from my yarn. I really think he thinks he is a cat! I will have a pic of my completed sock soon and I am waiting for some inspiration for Christmas projects. Well, must run and finish up that sock and start the next!

P.S. Kitten Knits is having a contest. Check it out and tell her I sent you! Thanks!

Congrats on getting your kids all tucked away at school for the semester - and an extra congrats for getting a yarn room out of the deal! It's got to be an amazing feeling to be able to spread out your crafts and see exactly what it is that you have.

I'm always looking for better ways to organize the mountain of stash that keeps growing. I'd love to see some pictures sometime.

Grover thinks Oliver has a great idea, but I'm trying really hard to convince him it's a bad idea. I do believe I'm in love with Oliver, though. He is so beautiful and he has those big brown eyes that Golden's have. Give him a hug for me and a big butt in the air for Grover! I cannot imagine the emotions running through you and your husband after sending your last two off to college. Take care.

Good to see you back home. You were in my backyard. Having your own knitting room is great. Can't wait to see pictures as you get more settled in. 27 years is a long time. You and hubby will feel lije your courting once again!

Congratulations!!!! It's an amazing thing to raise a family like that. A friend of mine is on a trip to Hawaii right now to set up her youngest at college there.

Tucker has the same fascination with yarn that Oliver does, so there's no knitting around him. He'll even try to distract you from the yarn so he can snatch it away. lol. He's definately my dog. Tell the darling Oliver we said hello and take a well deserved break dearie.

All of my girls are now finished high school and all are still at home. There goes my dream of a craft room! My oldest is not planning to go to college, I wish she would but it is her life(I tell myself that often). My middle girl is moving out in Dec but she shared a room with my baby who is not moving out anytime soon. So, I am destined to live with my containers of yarn in my bedroom for now. Someday, my sewing machine and various paraphanelia will all have a home of its own.

A room yarn does not have to share. That would be so nice to have.

I hope the kids have a wonderful first and last year!
They made it to college, you and the hubby have done well.

Having your own space for knitting and art is a great thing! I finally set myself up and organized it this spring and I think I've been so much more productive because of it. Course, now, I'm away from my room so we'll see if I can keep the productivity high or not!

Thank you for your comment on my blog. The black frilled bag is coming along well, should finish the knitting tonight. I hope it looks very evening style when felted, I would like to take it with me when we go to Melbourne later in the year. I have bought tickets for 'Phantom of the Opera' and it will be great with my little black dress.

Your dog is gorgeous, obviously very spoilt and loved.
