KNITTING GAL

December 27, 2007

After Christmas wind down....

I have given Oliver a rest this week as he was getting quite sassy from all the attention he was getting. He attacked every piece of tissue paper, every box or bag, and begged for food shamelessly. Therefore he is flagged this week because taking his picture just gives him such pleasure that he will be out of control. He is a little miffed, and claims that he will start his own blog but I have not given him the password to my computer. Sometimes we must be the pack leader and do what is best for the pack. He will be returning next week pending a review of his behavior.

Now as I fly back from the other side of the rainbow........

I am still working away on my afghan that is for my one sister. I will see her on Saturday and it must be finished by then. I will take a picture of the finished product if only to remind myself how much I hated doing it. I changed the pattern and have been picking away at since early December. I just can't wait to finish it and then finish my last four projects started in 2007. That way I will feel better about the New Year and any new projects. I know that I knit for the pleasure of knitting, but I do think that projects need to be completed unless absolutely awful and then they go to the frog pond.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends....ours was a mixture of dread, cooking, cleaning up, followed by a day of vegetating on the couch. Now that the pressure is off I am enjoying all the little chicks home and on Friday night we will have our annual Christmas outing to a movie for the family. I think the 2nd National Treasure will be the choice. Each year after Christmas all five of us go to dinner and a movie. We have done it since the chicks were little and the movies have ranged from Beauty and the Beast, & Harry Potter, to James Bond. Now that the kids are older we venture into the pg 13 and r rated movies. I have drawn the line at Sweeney Todd, how ever. I do not like gore with my movies. So hope that you enjoyed the holiday time and are looking forward to the New Year. I have noticed that I am getting closer to 100 posts and I plan to celebrate with a contest for all my blog friends. Right now I am in the high 80's so 100 isn't too far to go.

See you all next year!

Glad to hear your holidays were good (outside of that dreaded pressure knitting--had that and it was decidedly unpleasant!)...give Oliver a break--it's got to be exciting to have all that activity! :)

Have a good movie night...'see' you in the new year!

Dear Oliver,

Gracie here, I tried to take over my mom's knitting chair today...it got me on the blog so it worked. I like tissue paper and to sniff at gifts too. Don't get your own blog, Oliver, it's more fun to make out humans think they know how to be pack leaders...

Woof.

Oliver, as beautiful as you are, you should be allowed a little excitement over the flash of cameras. We miss you, but perhaps you will have a more mellow week and we'll see you soon!

Enjoy your down time, all of you!

I completely understand about the pup. Grover is the same and we are in the process of correcting hideous manners. Please give the big boy a hug for us, though. Sounds like your Christmas was wonderful. Have a lovely movie night with the young 'uns and have a safe, happy and healthy new year!

Enjoy your movie night. My son took his younger cousins to National Treasure a couple of days ago, and they all loved it! My brother and family are here all week, which is great fun!

Thanks for your well wishes :) Poor Oliver - Frisky has been a bit out of control too. We have had several installments of family coming to spend a night or 2, and Frisky minus his routine is a sad sight indeed, lol. I'm sure all these pups will be back to their old selves after the holidays.

Sounds like a lovely time was had by all, including Oliver. We used to do the movie thing as a family on Thanksgiving. As the girls got older, it got harder to choose movies that we all liked. I don't mind a little gore (although Sweeney Todd turns me off) but we tried for a holiday movie. We passed this year for lack of a good choice and played games instead. I know, it sounds all very Norman Rockwell, doesnt it?

I bet Oliver loved the attention with everyone being home. Happy New Year.

You tell Oliver that you are the pack leader and don't let him forget it! We also had a New Year's day of mercinary begging at the party. Unfortunately for Madison, no one gave in to her! I love your vintage pictures. Happy New Year, FH friend!
