I have been working away on a pair of socks for the other blog I am involved with. A very nice bunch of bloggers knitting socks together. Great fun! I am also in the throws of getting both remaining child units ready for back to college. Very busy packing and shopping. Then next week we move them in. I am so proud of both of them. One is to be senior and the other a freshman. It will be very quiet at home, but I do look forward to setting up the spare room for my knitting. I will finally have some space and not have to have everything stashed all around the place. I enjoy not just the knitting but all the accouterments that go with the craft. I find it very soothing to organize my needles and put all the patterns I collected into plastic covers and file them in binders. I think it is the librarian in me. Everything has a place and a number to go with it! Everyone's blogs have been very interesting of late and I am checking them every other day. I try to always leave a comment as I think it helps to get feedback. I have entered a few contest that have been fun and you can check them out here:

My link button was not working for some reason so hence the cut and paste. I can't figure out at times what is going on with blogspot. I have looked at wordpress but I find that a little more complicated. So i am sticking with blogspot until I learn a little more about the ins and outs of blogging. There are some good books out there on the subject. (What else from a librarian!)
Have a great weekend and stay cool. Keep knittin' kittens.

Two leaving at the same time. That might be tough.
The socks look wonderful
You have a wonderful weekend, too. No pics of Oliver today?
those socks look great! I just got that book from the library since I see it on so many blogs. I'm not concerned that I don't know how to knit socks yet! I will learn soon!
I like the socks. I am afraid of knitting socks, so I bought a crochet sock book instead. Just one hook. Have a good weekend.
Thanks for reminding me on your book recommendation. I guess I'm a little sensetive about the Southwest and things, but I just couldn't get into the book. I tried, though! Good luck on the socks, wish your kids luck in college! Thanks for stopping by:)
I, too, find it soothing to organize my knitting stuff. I LOVE to be organized, and am pretty good at doing it.
Thanks for the link to my contest.
Your socks look great! That is a nice shade of green.
Hi Donna!
I really like your blog. My mom in law gave me a bunch of vintage knitting patterns, mostly hats. I will see what other knitting patterns she has. If there is something you are looking for, I can photocopy them for you.
I started to knit socks for my dad but I am not happy with how it is going. Ripping time, that is how I learn. I am using the two circular needle method.
I also like big band music. My mom was in a convalescent hospital for three weeks and I would play Tommy Dorsey and Glen Miller CDs for her and dance around the room. She liked that.

Hi Donna,
I joined Statcounter yesterday and found you are a visitor to my site so I thought I would check your blog. Love it, your new sock looks great. I also love kniting socks and am just about to try the magic loop technique with one circular needle, not too sure how I'll go but I want to give it a go.
Happy blogging, Lisa
Wanted to let you know I like the new banner with the tops of the knitting needles. Your site has lots of new neat things lately!
I just noticed the sock book. I have that one, read through it but still unsure about socks.
